Toyota Financial Services Enterprise Platforms is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Software Engineer. The primary responsibility of this role is to design, build, and implement scalable cloud-native solutions that power enterprise platforms and help Toyota Financial Services meet evolving business needs. In this role, you'll turn complex requirements into reliable, well-managed platforms, APIs, and distributed services while partnering across product, architecture, and engineering to deliver meaningful business impact.

What you'll be doing

In this role, success means building high-quality platform solutions that are scalable, observable, and resilient in production. On a typical day, you'll collaborate with product owners, architects, and fellow engineers to solve complex technical challenges, improve platform capabilities, and create reusable solutions that help teams move faster.

  • Design, develop, test, and support distributed microservices and platform applications aligned with business goals and engineering requirements
  • Translate functional and technical requirements into scalable, supportable cloud-native solutions
  • Partner closely with product owners, architects, lead engineers, and peer developers to deliver reliable platform capabilities and shared services
  • Contribute to technical design discussions and implement solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards
  • Build and maintain APIs, integration components, and event-driven services that support critical platform and application needs
  • Strengthening system quality through code reviews, testing, debugging, and hands-on production support for distributed systems
  • Improve application quality and operational health through logging, monitoring, instrumentation, and automation across services
  • Create reusable components, engineering practices, and technical documentation that improve delivery consistency, engineering efficiency, and delivery speed across the teams
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute ideas that drive continuous improvement across the engineering organization
What you bring

5+ years of software engineering experience where you've delivered scalable cloud-native applications and services in a modern engineering environment

  • Strong programming experience in modern technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, Kotlin, or similar languages and frameworks
  • Strong programming experience in developing User Interface using modern frameworks like React and Next.js
  • Experience working with microservices, distributed systems, real-time streaming architectures, and serverless patterns
  • Practical experience with AWS Services and related cloud technologies, along with a strong understanding of Modern 12-faceted application design
  • Proven ability to build and support observable systems with strong practices in logging, testing, security, instrumentation, troubleshooting, and production support
  • Experience with version control practices, including branching, merging, and code review processes
  • Added bonus if you have Experience developing solutions and understanding infrastructure for streaming and integration services such as Kafka, AWS Kinesis, AWS Event Bridge or API infrastructure such as AWS API Gateway, MuleSoft and Apigee
  • Certification and/or deep understanding of Kafka, Kinesis, or MuleSoft
  • Exposure to building self-service tools, reusable frameworks, or developer enablement capabilities that reduce operational overhead
