Job description

Join to apply for the Director, Truck Tire Sales role at Toyo Tires. Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp is looking to hire a Director of Sales for the Commercial Truck Tires division. The Director of Sales, Commercial Truck Tire is the champion of Truck Tires in the USA and will be accountable for the attainment of the assigned unit, dollar sales and margin targets for Truck and Bus Radial (TBR) products in the USA. The responsibilities include direction, coaching and education of Truck Tire Sales Managers (TTSM); developing and maintaining professional relationships with key TBR dealers, fleets and OEM accounts; training Regional Sales Managers (RSM) on TBR product knowledge and professional TBR sales skills; and working in a matrix-like organization with the Division Directors of Sales (DOS) to solicit new TBR dealers, fleets and OEM accounts. TTSMs have direct reporting relationships to the Director of Commercial Truck Tire Sales.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Achieve or exceed annual national TBR unit and dollar sales goals in conjunction with the Directors of Sales, Regional Sales Managers and Truck Tire Sales Managers
  • Plan, develop and implement written programs for accounts to achieve sales goals
  • Assist management in the formulation of TBR strategy, sales programs and policies, and the future development of the Toyo commercial servicing dealer network and TTC Commercial Sales Force
  • Collaborate on products and technical needs with the Senior Product Manager of Commercial Truck Tires
  • Prepare the monthly sales forecast for all truck tire products
  • Participate in monthly production meetings representing the Sales Department concerning TBR inventory issues and the sales forecast
  • Develop and maintain good business relationships with major TBR accounts through periodic contacts and proper handling of sales and administrative functions
  • Train and develop sales personnel, both TTSM and RSM, to ensure the development and accomplishment of established sales objectives for TBR products
  • Work with senior Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. management to form and institutionalize the Toyo Approach to Commercial Tire Sales – a methodology and culture for selling truck tires in the USA
  • Supervise the TBR sales personnel to ensure their work methodology and Toyo approach is consistent, leading to the growth of the TBR business and accomplishment of established sales objectives
  • Optimize the activities of the Commercial Tire Sales team through call planning, execution and effective time management
  • Collaborate with Divisional DOS to plan for, solicit and sign new Commercial and WD accounts
  • Assist TTSMs, DOSs and RSMs in solicitation efforts at large TBR fleet prospects
  • Maintain a flow of information to Senior Director of Sales on all aspects of sales activities with monthly reports, the core of which covering major strategies, actions and their evaluation for the month, by-product, by-dealer, by-area, and major strategies and actions for the coming months
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervise subordinates to support the functions of the position. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of this function. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

The salary range for this position is $141,070.11 - $171,605.17.
