Job description

Athletic Trainer - Core Coverage Team (Hollywood & Los Angeles Sub Pool)
Flexible Consistency | W-2 Employment | $40.00 / hour
Looking for flexible athletic training work without the last-minute scrambling, unfamiliar sites, or 1099 tax headaches?
As ATvantage expands its footprint across Hollywood and the greater Los Angeles area, we are actively building our Core Coverage Team for upcoming secondary school needs. This team is built specifically for athletic trainers who want reliable access to shifts, strong advocacy, and the ability to pick up supplemental work entirely on your own terms.
This isn't typical, unpredictable per diem. You will only work at established client sites where ATvantage already has strong school relationships, clear clinical expectations, and the supplies you actually need to do your job well.
Why Join the Core Coverage Team?
Consistent Access to Shifts & Real Predictability
  • Your Territory: Primary coverage opportunities across secondary schools in the Hollywood and Los Angeles area.
  • Flexibility: Afternoon to evening shifts (Monday-Friday), making this perfect for supplemental income or balancing other life commitments.
  • Priority Access: Get first choice when supplemental or short-term coverage shifts become available.
  • No Guesswork: No random, unvetted sites. You receive predictability you can count on.
W-2 Pay & True Professional Protection
  • Premium Compensation: Flat $40.00 per hour.
  • W-2 Status: You are a W-2 employee, not a 1099 independent contractor.
  • Benefits & Perks: Access to a 401(k), paid sick time, and reliable payroll.
  • Professional Growth: Free CEUs + MedBridge discounts to keep your credentials sharp.
  • Peace of Mind: Full risk mitigation and professional liability coverage are provided.
Supported, Familiar Work Environments
  • Clinical-First Culture: Work at ATvantage-supported client sites where your worth is recognized and burnout is actively fought.
  • Fully Stocked: All necessary medical and athletic training supplies are provided directly on-site.
  • Real Advocacy: Clear communication channels, setup expectations, and escalation support mean you are never left on an island. You are fully backed by ATvantage leadership and our LA district partners.
Team-Based, Mission-Driven
  • Continuity of Care: Your role directly supports student-athletes when schools need high-quality coverage most.
  • Collaborative Network: Seamless handoffs and collaboration with full-time ATs and coordinators-you're part of a growing LA network of peers, never operating solo.
What You'll Do
  • Provide comprehensive athletic training services within Board of Certification (BOC) guidelines.
  • Support practices, games, and local tournament events at established secondary school sites.
  • Deliver high-quality patient care in settings that actively value the athletic training profession.
  • Step onto campus confidently, knowing that the logistics, systems, and expectations are already handled.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Certified: Board of Certification (BOC) certified Athletic Trainer in good standing.
  • State Regulated: Valid California structural requirements/documentation for athletic training practice.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Current CPR/First Aid/AED for Healthcare Providers certification.
  • Professional Identity: NPI number (recommended).
  • Ready to Connect: Up-to-date resume and professional references.
