JTB Hawaii Travel continues to develop and integrate its expertise, experience and synergy in travel planning, destination promotion and event management as it seeks to further solidify its position as a full-fledged destination management company (DMC).

Hawaii-Manager-Honolulu Office [Pay Range: $59,000-$79,000]
Primary Responsibilities: Under the general direction of the Tourism Platform Department Manager, this position is responsible for supporting the development and execution of JTB Hawaii's new business initiative, the "Tourism Platform."
This role contributes to building a sustainable tourism business model centered on transportation services by conducting market research, executing PoC (Proof of Concept), supporting service design, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and assisting in digital platform development.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  1. College degree or equivalent experience.
  2. 3-5 years of relevant experience in business development, project coordination, digital, or marketing-related roles.
  3. Strong communication skills in English and Japanese (both verbal and written).
  4. Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, business partners, and external stakeholders.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills and basic negotiation ability.
  6. Understanding of travel market dynamics, including Japanese and international customer segments.
  7. Knowledge of Hawaii's tourism industry, infrastructure, and mobility environment.
  8. Familiarity with JTB products, services, and internal systems is preferred.
  9. Working knowledge of digital tools and platforms (e.g., CMS, data tools, and creative tools such as Adobe Illustrator) is preferred.
  10. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  11. Valid Hawaii driver's license preferred.

Working Conditions:
Working Hours
  1. 40 hours per week, between the hours of 8:00 am - 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday but may work afterhours, weekends and holidays as deemed necessary.
  2. Heavy overtime seasonally, periodically, and as required.
  3. Occasional travel to various locations outside of the office, including travel to neighbor islands, continental U.S., and/or abroad, where weather conditions may vary.

Physical and Mental Demands (focus on ADA language - highlighted parts)
  1. Must be able to frequently communicate with customers/ co-workers/vendors over the phone, computer, or in person in Japanese and English.
  2. Must be able to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery,

such as a copier, printer, multi-line telephone system, cellular phone, facsimile machine,
other standard office equipment, email, vehicle.
  1. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time.
  2. Must be able to observe documents from computer screens.
  3. Must be able to operate heavy camera equipment during photo shooting.
  4. Occasionally lift and/or relocate equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, with aid of coworkers and handcarts.
