Position: Tour Guide (1)

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Manager of Operations - LSMF   

Pay Rate: $15.00 


Position Summary:

Serve as an ambassador by offering dynamic, enthusiastic, professional experiences for guests in all areas of the museum and factory. Give factory tours and enforce safety guidelines. Present programming and assist with the set up and execution of special events designed to attract and delight guests at Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory. Assist with the set up and execution of rental events. Hand turn, burn brand, cover Hold a Piece of History, and conduct Bat Vault experiences. Cover areas of guest services including ticket selling, batting cage, and Guest Check-In as needed. Must work nights and weekends as needed. 


Essential Functions:

  1. Give six to seven guided tours of the bat factory each day, adhering to the standard tour script and maintaining an enthusiastic, dynamic approach to every tour. 
  2. Conduct special programming and presentations. This includes but is not limited to, bat vault presentation, hand turning, burn branding, hold a piece of history, and other special or exhibit-related experiences. 
  3. Check tour tickets of each guest on your tour.
  4. Sell tickets, cover batting cages, assist with evening events, and other guest services as needed. 
  5. Provide top-notch interaction with all guests, in all areas of the museum, at all times.
  6. Lead high-profile tours, including VIP and specialty experiences, ensuring a consistently engaging and informative guest experience.
  7. Be the eyes and ears on the floor, including completing a checklist of exhibit maintenance and reporting any needed updates, repairs, or malfunctions.
  8. Assist other guides with gathering guests for tours and programming, including checking tickets.
  9. Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Requirements: 

  1. Must be at least 18 years of age
  2. High School Graduate
  3. Polished, dynamic public speaker
  4. Must have a professional appearance 
  5. Passion for and knowledge of baseball preferred.
