Job description

General Summary:

To perform all functions including clean, sanitize and replenish totes for production and warehousing use. Operate our wash system and equipment for cleaning and sanitizing totes.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Work with warehouse to assure uninterruptible supply of totes in a timely and safe manner.
  • Preparation of totes to run through the tote washer efficiently and effectively.
  • Operate simple start/stop process of the tote washer to ensure processing of totes.
  • Engage in proper loading, unloading and flushing procedures.
  • Stage, wash and inspect totes for proper cleanliness.
  • Clean and sanitize totes in accordance with all safety practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Replenish clean totes to production areas.
  • Exposure to elements including heat and cold stress and nuisance dust conditions and woodland, streamside, and swampland flora and fauna.
  • Use a pressure washer, squeegees, and solvents to clean the inside of totes.
  • Prepare palletized stacks of clean totes and return tote lids so they are readily available for use in the warehouse.
  • Process and organize returned equipment to designated area to be cleaned.
  • Perform visual quality inspections of product and complete documentation.
  • Help maintain a clean and safe facility.
  • Responsible for the completion of special projects or the assignment of other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Previous warehouse experience preferred.
  • Previous experience operating warehouse equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks a plus.
  • Ability to successfully complete the forklift certification test.

Position Competencies:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while performing multiple duties and tasks.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
  • Ability to follow company safety and quality procedures and guidelines consistently
  • Proven ability to complete position responsibilities within the allotted timeframe.
  • Produces a caliber of work consistent with departmental operating standards.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work efficiently.
  • Effectively represents the company and is responsive to the needs of internal/external customers.
  • Working knowledge of a WMS and handheld technology.

Working Environment:

The work of this position is performed in both inside and outside environments in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. The position requires the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs. Frequent bending, stooping, and climbing are also required. In this position, associates may be exposed to hazardous materials, vapors, fumes, and extreme weather conditions. Proper PPE is provided for employees working in these conditions.
