ELECTRICIAN MAINTENANCE
GDIT is seeking a Marine Electrician to help support the SACSS program in Seattle, Washington
This is an onsite position, and no relocation assistance is provided.
Must be a US Citizen
Job Description:
  • Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits, cables, equipment, and connectors.
  • Uses hand tools and testing equipment.
  • Inspects and tests electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits.
  • Isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using general and specialized testing equipment.
  • Replaces faulty switches, sockets, and other elements of electrical systems.
  • Dismantles electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes, and armatures.
  • Mounts motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures into position and completes circuits according to diagram specifications.
  • Works from drawings, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Participates in special projects as required.
  • Must be able to obtain all necessary badges (DBIDS and shipyard).
  • Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes up to 75 lbs.
  • Travel (within and outside of the continental United States) Maybe required for 20% of the time

Requirements:

  • HS/GED
  • 1+ years of experience

Required Certifications:
Cableway Certified, Connertor Certified, Modular, COAX, Multi-Pin, Connector Fabricator and Inspector, Connector Trained and Qualified with 40 hours OJT. Fiber Optic Cable Handling, Pulling, Forming/Shaping, BOF
