SUMMARY
The Facilities Maintenance Technician III ("Ingeniero/a de Mantenimiento I") assists to ensure equipment, physical plant, and property are maintained properly so that equipment operates at optimum levels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Completes work assignments and tasks in cooperation with other facility technicians in a team-oriented environment.
  • Works with the Maintenance Planning department to evaluate needs for all work requests--both scheduled and unscheduled--as well as any special projects that arise.
  • Follows up on preventative maintenance on refrigeration units, plumbing, electrical, overhead doors, and any other mechanical systems.
  • Assists in repairs involving basic electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
  • Reviews and maintains maintenance logs, and completes any and all documentation necessary to the completion of a task.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 3-12 months of relevant experience and/or training. If no educational background, at least 1 year.
  • Previous similar position in a hotel, or similar business entity preferred.
  • Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
  • Ability to always maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Experience in dealing with the public is preferred, such as retail cashier, food industry service, guest service with public contacts, etc.
  • The following position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et. seq.
