Job description

Position Description:

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Hydrology Technician at our Carlin operation. The successful candidate will Perform groundwater monitoring system installation and maintenance to minimize data losses. This includes instrumentation replacement, data logger and wireless system troubleshooting & repairs.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that standard procedures/guidelines and work instructions are followed so the required hydrogeological data is collected and processed on an approximate 30 day cycle
  • Perform groundwater monitoring system installation and maintenance to minimize data losses. This includes instrumentation replacement, data logger and wireless system troubleshooting & repairs
  • Collect & process data
  • Maintain thorough well files
  • Participate in the planning for and assist in the logistics/oversight of hydrology drilling activities including piezometers and dewatering wells
  • Materials inventory: Order materials and supplies
  • Actively participate in safety programs
  • Develop an understanding of the risks within the day-to-day operations and work to manage them
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Ability to walk 500 feet without the need to sit down required
  • Ability to drive, or learn to drive, 4-wheel drive pick-ups required
  • Must be able to lift 45 pounds required
  • Experienced with the following programs:  Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Powerpoint, Adobe and Word, AutoCAD, Outlook, Geonet required
