What you will do...
  • Document physician documentation in EMR
  • Medically assist the doctor through the patient examination
  • Document any procedures that may be performed by the physician or ophthalmic medical personnel
  • Transcribe the history, examination, impression, plan, results of tests, prescriptions, and orders
  • E-prescribe medications in EMR
  • Measure pupil size and reactivity
  • Corneal topography
  • Fundus Photos
  • Retinal nerve fiber layer measurement
  • Retinal thickness and topography
  • Prepare for and assist with in-office procedures and triage phone calls
  • Prepare examination rooms to provide all needed medications, forms, educational materials, etc.
  • Coordinate surgical needs with the surgical counselors
  • Coordinate with check-in and check-out staff regarding patients
  • Create and provide a positive, accountable, and inspired work environment

What we require...
  • One year of ophthalmic scribe/technician experience in ophthalmology setting (or equivalent related ability) preferred
  • COT or COA certification and Ophthalmology knowledge or Medical/ Ophthalmic Scribe experience desired
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in EMR and computer literacy
  • Well organized and attentive to detail
