Job description

Civil Engineer II is responsible for analysis, development and permitting of ground mount utility scale solar farms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and evaluate site constraint analysis, including zoning, topography, environmental, soils
  • Direct and/or develop array layouts with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Prepare soil erosion & sediment control and stormwater plans, details and calculations for permit submittal to AHJ
  • Direct Civil Designers and Engineers to prepare and revise site/civil plans and calculations
  • Prepare revisions and responses to AHJ comments

Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises Civil Designers and Engineers.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • Engineer-in-Training required
  • Registered Professional Engineer or obtainable within 1 year
  • Minimum four (4) years relevant work experience
  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience with design of PV projects (desired)
  • Comfortable presenting to and interacting with consultants, authorities with jurisdiction, and regulatory agencies

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

Work is performed in the office and in the field. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, twist and lift up to 20 pounds. May be exposed to weather elements when in the field. Limited out of town travel may be required.
