Theย Surveying and Geomatics Business Unit is seeking a Survey Party Chief in Tacoma, WA.

OurSurvey Party Chiefwill work as a member of a survey crew performing boundary, topography, ALTA, right of way, and construction surveys for public and private clients. The selected individual will alsoย be responsible forย the operation and maintenance of survey equipment, taking field notes, data collection, performingย calculationsย and working with DEA staff and clients on these projects. Involvement in the office will include reducing survey data, performing calculations,ย copyingย and filing of this data.

What You'll DoKey Responsibilities:
  • Manage and perform boundary, topography, ALTA, right-of-way, and construction surveysย 
  • Operate andย maintainย survey equipment, including Trimble total stations, Trimble GPS equipment, and Leica electronic levelsย 
  • Collect and process field data; perform complex survey computations using software such as Trimble Business Center and Leicaย 
  • Maintain detailed andย accurateย field notes, data collection files, and computation sheetsย 
  • Inspect and verify accuracy of deliverables before submissionย 
  • Coordinate, lead, and mentor survey crew personnelย 
What You BringRequired Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent requiredย 
  • 5ย yearsย of field survey experienceย 
  • Proven ability to work in a team environmentย 
  • Strong work ethic and accountabilityย 
  • Clean driving record required (no more than 3 accidents and/or moving violations in the lastย 36 monthsย or 2 accidents and or moving violations within the last 12 months)ย 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates or Bachelor'sย Degreeย 
  • Trimble Total Station and GPS experience preferredย 
  • Proficiencies with MS Word and Excel a plusย

Physical Requirements & Occasional Work Environments:
