Job description

Position: Full-Time Optometric Technician

Applicant must be able to:

1- Obtain propper Case history which includes:

a. Patient’s chief complaint vs other complaints.

b. Ocular health (date of last eye exam? Previous eye diagnosis? Previous eye surgeries? Any eye treatment received? Wearing glasses/contacts? Date of first ever worn glasses/

contact ?).

c. Medical health (date of last medical exam? Past/current medical history?/ type of treatment received or currently receiving? Allergeies to medications?).

2- Obtain propper Visual Acuity measurment.

3- Extraocular muscle motility (able to perform test properrly in all cardinals of gaze and accuratly report abnormality? For example limitted eye movement? Pain or double vision?).

4- Confrontaional visual field (able to acurate perform and reports abnormalities/vsiual field defecit ?).

5- Pupil testing (able to perform testing properrly and acurately report abnormality ? for example, be able to assess pupil’s response to light (direct vs consensual response) and detect presensce of APD?).

6- Color vision testing.

7- Amsler grid testing. ( espaically for AMD patients)

8- Opthalmic lens evaluation (able to accurately obtain habitual glasses prescription using both manual and/or automatc lensometer?).

9- Retinoscopy vs Manifest(subjective) distance refraction. (must be able to measure PD first).

10- Operate ophthalmic imaging machines ( Fundus photo imaging, OCT, Visual field test, topography and IOL master)

11- Accurate measue IOP (intraocular pressure).

12- Operate Slit lamp machine.
Pay:
 $16 - $17 per hour
