Diagnostic Automotive Technician / A-Level Mechanic

Location: West Bend, WI

Schedule: Full-time | Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

About the Opportunity

AutoShop Recruiting is partnered with a well-established independent repair shop in West Bend, WI, to build a pipeline for a Diagnostic Automotive Technician / A-Level Mechanic. This shop has steady car count, a growing operating model, and leadership that is investing in facility improvements, inspections, workflow, and technician support.

This top shop is looking for a technician who can diagnose correctly, repair with pride, communicate clearly, and contribute to a shop that is serious about process, quality, and growth.


What You'll Do

  • Diagnose drivability, electrical, check-engine-light, engine performance, mechanical, and maintenance concerns
  • Use scan tools, test procedures, and repair information to verify failures instead of guessing
  • Perform quality repairs across domestic, Asian/import, European, gasoline, diesel, and 4x4 vehicles
  • Document findings clearly and support advisor communication through inspections, pictures, videos, and notes
  • Maintain productivity while protecting quality, safety, and comeback prevention
  • Work within a process-driven shop that is building toward stronger key-to-key execution
  • Contribute to a clean, organized, upbeat, professional shop environment


What We're Looking For

  • Proven automotive technician experience, ideally in an independent repair shop environment
  • Strong diagnostic skillset across electrical, drivability, mechanical, and maintenance concerns
  • Ability to work independently without constant oversight
  • Comfortable using modern scan tools, testing equipment, and repair information
  • Strong tool investment and pride in workmanship
  • Awareness of flagged hours, productivity, and personal performance metrics
  • Team-first attitude and willingness to support a structured inspection/workflow model
  • ASE certifications are a plus
  • Valid driver's license


Shop Environment

  • Independent repair shop serving West Bend since 2008
  • 4 bays plus alignment rack and dedicated inspection hoist/rack
  • Approximately 50 cars per week with room to grow production and sales process
  • Tekmetric shop management system
  • ASE-certified technician capability and 36-month/36,000-mile TechNet warranty
  • Services include diagnostics, electrical, brakes, A/C, suspension, wheel alignment, maintenance, engine repair, gasoline/diesel, domestic, Asian/import, European, and 4x4 work
