Job description

*This position is contingent upon award*
*Expected deployment: September 2026*
The Acoustic Engineer will provide specialized support during the construction and testing phases of facilities requiring compliance with Intelligence Community standards. The selected candidate will work closely with construction teams and security personnel to ensure facilities meet the requirements outlined in ICD/ICS 705. The Acoustic Engineer will conduct audio testing, identify deficiencies, and support remediation and retesting efforts until required standards are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
  • Work with construction firms to ensure compliance with requirements established in ICD/ICS 705.
  • Conduct audio testing to verify that facilities meet required acoustic and security standards.
  • Document testing results and technical findings.
  • Report discrepancies within assigned areas of responsibility to the Site Security Manager (SSM).
  • Coordinate with construction teams and project stakeholders to address and resolve deficiencies.
  • Perform retesting when issues are identified to ensure full compliance with required standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of testing activities and corrective actions.

Requirements
  • Active U.S. Top Secret clearance.
  • Appropriate certification to conduct acoustic or environmental testing. Examples include:
    • Certified Noise Control Engineer (CNCE) from the Institute of Noise Control Engineering
    • Certificate of Competence in Environmental Noise Measurement (CCENM)
    • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
    • Certified Vibration Analyst (CVA)
    • Certified Professional in Acoustics (CPA) from the Acoustical Society of America
  • Demonstrated expert understanding of ICD/ICS 705 requirements through experience working on multiple ICD 705 projects.
  • Experience performing acoustic or audio testing and evaluating results against established standards.
  • Ability to work effectively with construction teams, security personnel, and project stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense facility construction or secure facility projects.
  • Strong technical reporting and documentation skills.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve compliance issues during facility construction and testing phases.
