Job Overview:
Job Summary**
The Toolroom Attendant is responsible for the efficient organization, maintenance, and distribution of tools and equipment at our Big Island location, supporting various construction and industrial projects.
Job Responsibilities**
* Manage the inventory of tools, equipment, and consumables, ensuring accurate records of issuance and return.
* Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and minor maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure their operational readiness and safety.
* Organize and maintain the toolroom in a clean, orderly, and accessible manner, adhering to established safety protocols.
* Issue tools and equipment to employees, verifying proper authorization and recording all transactions.
* Receive returned tools and equipment, inspecting for damage and ensuring proper storage.
* Assist with the procurement of new tools and supplies as needed, coordinating with project managers and purchasing.
* Report damaged or missing tools and equipment to supervisors promptly.
* Operate forklift or other material handling equipment as required (with proper certification).
* Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
Job Qualifications**
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Proven experience in a toolroom, warehouse, or inventory management role, preferably in a construction or industrial setting.
* Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with a wide range of hand and power tools.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to maintain accurate records and use inventory management systems.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
* Valid driver's license preferred.
* Forklift certification is a plus.
