MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Tool Room Procurement Specialist to join our team in Panama City, FL. This is an onsite position.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Source, evaluate, and select reliable vendors for the procurement of specialized tooling, parts, supplies, materials, and shop consumables.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve cost savings while maintaining strict quality and compliance standards.
  • Generate, review, and manage purchase orders (POs), proactively following up with vendors to mitigate lead-time risks and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Maintain highly accurate inventory records, conducting regular cycle counts and audits to prevent supply and tool shortages and production downtime.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the tool room, including the issuance, receipt, tracking, and storage of tools, toolboxes, precision aerospace tools, fixtures, and gauges.
  • Maintain a calibration tracking system to ensure all measurement and test equipment complies with customer-specific requirements.
  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for tool control, inspection, preventative maintenance, and repair, while optimizing tool room layout and workflow.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in supply, procurement, or parts and supply sourcing
  • 3+ years of experience in tool room management and inventory control
  • Experience with local procurement and local purchase processes and procedures
  • Experience with hand tools and precision measuring instruments, such as torque wrenches, feeler gauges, and micrometers
  • Experience interpreting written instructions and technical specifications

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in aviation-related support activities or Military Aviation tool room and tool control programs
  • Familiarity with digital tool tracking systems
  • Experience machining or repairing custom tooling

Clearance Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizenship is required with an active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain an Interim Secret before starting.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in confined or restricted spaces and safely climb and descend ladders.
