Job description

We are a custom machinery and stamping die builder seeking an experienced Journeyman or highly skilled Tool & Die Maker who takes pride in producing precision work and solving complex machining challenges.

This position is not production machining. Our shop builds custom machines and stamping dies, so the work is varied, technical, and hands-on. The right candidate enjoys working from prints, planning machining strategies, and contributing to the assembly of complex equipment.

If you are someone who values craftsmanship, problem-solving, and building things the right way, this role offers the opportunity to work on unique projects alongside a skilled and collaborative team.

  • Machine precision components from steel and aluminum using manual machine tools
  • Read and interpret complex blueprints and detail drawings
  • Plan machining processes and determine the most efficient order of operations
  • Identify potential manufacturing issues and recommend solutions
  • Support project builds by sharing machining expertise with teammates
  • Install and assemble components such as bushings, bearings, cylinders, and actuators
  • Select proper machines, tooling, and setups to meet tolerance requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Assist with machine builds and other shop needs as projects require

What We're Looking For

  • Strong experience operating manual lathes, mills, drill presses, and grinders
  • Ability to machine complex details and tight tolerances
  • Strong blueprint reading and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and math skills
  • A craftsmanship mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to collaborate and support teammates
  • Personal precision measuring tools and hand tools
  • Valid driver’s license and forklift experience

Experience Requirements

Preferred

Why Join Our Team
