Job description

Job Description:

Perform routine, preventive maintenance and repair on pneumatic, hydraulic pulse, battery and DC electric hand tools primarily in an industrial bench type environment. Job duties require technician to trouble shoot / evaluate issues related to the malfunction of the tool. Then determine corrective action to get the tool back to the Original Equipment Manufacturer’s (OEM) specifications. Based on findings from the evaluation, technician will prepare a detailed quotation for the customer with the necessary parts and labor. Ability to manage time productively with a sense of urgency is required. Must be able to resolve problems independently. At times, the position will be required to train customers on the service & repair of specific tool OEM brands such as DuPas, Stanley, Makita, etc. Minimal travel to a customer’s site to perform on-site services may be required. Practice of proper safety procedures at all times is expected.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Some technical experience maintaining and repairing various types of mechanical and electrical equipment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the following industrial hand tool types is preferred: pneumatic, hydraulic pulse, battery and DC electric.
  • An understanding of torque and angle fastening strategy is a plus.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Occasional travel to customer site with overnight stay.
  • Language – fluent English.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs. occasionally.
  • Work in an industrial environment with some walking, bending, reaching and kneeling required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts breakdowns and procedural manuals.
  • Basic computer skills in tool related programs and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Education / Experience Minimum 

o   High school diploma or equivalent

o   Preferred Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college / technical school

o   Preferred one-year related tool repair experience

o   Equivalent combination of education and experience

Compensation:

Hourly wage + Overtime

(Starting salary will be determined based on qualifications, the amount listed reflects an approximate starting range)

Training:

Technical repair training is provided both internally by experienced Team Members as well as externally by the specific OEM Representatives
