Job description

Logistics & Supply Management Coordinator
The Logistics & Supply Management Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and proactively managing the movement and forward deployment of materials from Martin Marietta locations to customers in the most efficient, timely, and cost-effective manner with a high regard for customer service. This role supports the Customer Support and Sales Teams by assisting with transportation coordination across all modes, including outbound shipments.
Responsibilities
  • Plan and schedule customer shipments, managing daily and weekly loading schedules, and prioritizing loads to meet service requirements.
  • Coordinate with third-party transportation and transloading providers, suppliers, production, and customer support to resolve pickup, delivery, and service issues.
  • Maintain accurate transportation, shipment, and inventory movement data across ERP systems, customer portals, and shipping documents (BOLs tracking).
  • Monitor transportation performance, assist with freight cost optimization, participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts, and support month-end and procedural updates.
  • Assist with shipping, transportation coordination, and documentation accuracy, including tracking, tracing, and communication of shipment changes.
  • Support daily transloading operations by coordinating inventory flow, monitoring production issues, and ensuring accurate records, documentation, and ERP system updates.
  • Collaborate with the Plant, Customer Service, Sales, Logistics, and Accounting to maintain high customer service levels and resolve issues.
  • Manage intercompany, tolling, transloading, and third-party inventory activities by monitoring transfers, production completions, and purchase order receipts in the ERP system.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the supply chain and distribution network that exists between Martin Marietta and customer locations.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Business, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in material planning and management / inventory / supply chain/logistics.
  • Experience working with trucking and logistics operations is preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with JD Edwards is desirable.
  • Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service

  • Must keep safety above all else with hazard recognition abilities
  • Strong analytical, planning, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Excellent coordination and communication abilities
  • Problem-solving mindset; Attention to detail and data accuracy
