Job description

Summary

Retail store managers engaged in selling specific, related, or general lines of tobacco store merchandise by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

1. Clock in when arriving for work, clock out when starting breaks, clock back in when returning from a break, and clock out when leaving for the day.

2. Plans and prepares work schedules and assigns employees to specific duties.

3. Coordinate sales promotion activities and prepares, or directs workers preparing, merchandise displays and advertising copy.

4. Supervises employees engaged in sales work, reconciling cash with sales receipts, prepare bank deposits, keeping operating records, or preparing daily record of transactions for Home Office Accounting, or performs work of subordinates, as needed.

5. Orders merchandise or prepares requisitions to replenish merchandise on hand.

6. Ensures compliance of employees with established security, sales, and record keeping procedures and practices.

7. Answer customer’s complaints or inquiries.

8. Check for water in storage tanks every day.

9. Enter all required reports into a computer each day.

10. Price check all required competition on fuels and merchandise and report such to the appropriate person.

11. Work a subordinate’s shift if they fail to come to work or until a replacement can be found.

12. Inspect all outside areas to include: the building, storage buildings, restrooms, dumpster area, lawn, driveway, approaches, pumps, fixtures and lighting to insure cleanliness, accessibility, operability and safety.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manages all Customer Service Associates. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this position. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
