General Duties
Teachers educate, nurture and supervise young children from birth to 5 years of age in a respectful and loving manner. Full knowledge of TN DHS Rules and Regulations are required. The best practices described in the regulations will be upheld. Teachers create and oversee educational activities and curriculum within the classroom and CCRC. We strive to create intergenerational bonds between the children and the residents of CCRC. Teacher will facilitate these intergenerational activities while maintain supervision and appropriate ratios. Teachers will attend regular staff meetings, workshops, in services and other trainings. All teachers must be professional. Every employee must arrive on time and dressed in appropriate attire (please see Employee Policy Handbook). Every employee will maintain a high level of confidentiality in respects to children's records, resident information and family matters.
Program Requirements
All staff must be physically, mentally and emotionally capable of using the appropriate judgment for the care of children. All staff must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GRE. All staff are required to pass a Criminal History Disclosure, Vulnerable Persons Registry Review, pass Fingerprint Background Review, Abuse Registry Check, be drug tested, and submit a required Childcare Provider Medical Report, and complete CCRC and GC Orientation. All staff are required to read, understand and know where to locate TN DHS Rules and Regulations.
Classroom Duties
  • Plan and execute the curriculum that adheres to our program's philosophy. Encourage activities and instruction that will embrace developmentally appropriate growth of a child physically, cognitively, socially and emotionally
  • Provide a safe and sanitary environment. All classrooms must be cleaned daily
  • Value and support each child without regards to race, gender, religion or national origin. Caregivers must incorporate multiculturalism and diversity in the classroom
  • Communicate with parents. Allow for parent conferences
  • Facilitate intergenerational activities between the children and CCRC residents with respect
  • Any other duties as needed
