Position Overview
The Tennessee Department of Human Services is seeking an Administrative Services Assistant to support the Family Assistance Program. Under general supervision, the selected candidate will perform administrative and clerical duties of routine to moderate complexity while providing excellent customer service to program participants.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the front desk point of contact by greeting customers and answering incoming phone calls.
  • Receive, review, and process customer applications and verification documents related to Family Assistance programs.
  • Perform data entry and data review with a high level of accuracy.
  • Assist with special projects and assignments related to program operations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients and internal staff.
  • Participate in onsite, classroom, and virtual training sessions provided by the department.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Basic experience with:
    • Customer service
    • Data entry
    • Scheduling
    • Typing
    • Verbal communication
