Job Summary/Description:
WTHI-TV is looking for a full-time Director/TMP Operator who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment. You'll be responsible for directing/technical directing live newscasts, breaking news and special reports, along with pre-recorded productions, monitoring the station's on-air signals, as well as segmenting and ingesting daily programming and commercials.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Direct/technical direction of locally produced programs
- Technical Media Producer (master control)
- Supervise and train production staff
- Maintain quality air signal for all local and network programming
- Ingest and QC content
- Understand the operations of all production equipment
- Coordinate maintenance for equipment repair
- Work with other departments, clients, and agencies
- Other job-related duties as required
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in broadcast media with hands-on experience in a live television environment preferred
- Highly motivated and confident in executing difficult and complex tasks
- Self-directed and able to function proactively, ensuring goals are met while adhering to deadlines
- Good leadership skills
- Ability to function in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to quickly react to changing priorities and needs
- Able to troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise
- Good verbal and written skills
