Job description


Coates Field Service, Inc. is seeking an experienced Title Supervisor to support our Operations Center located in Oklahoma City, OK. Successful candidates will be highly detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and strong communicators. No per diem available for this in-house position.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides project manager oversight and expertise to land projects in terms of time, resources, and cost
  • Interprets, negotiates, and prepares various proposals for title needs
  • Participates in due diligence and business development opportunities as a subject matter expert
  • Provides input and expertise in preparation of various contracts
  • Monitor personnel requirements to meet title deadlines
  • Coordinate with clients and adjacent departments to prepare all necessary title documents needed for acquisition
  • Understanding of Breakouts and Runsheets
  • Reviews all documents including title acquisition packages and title work for accuracy and completeness
  • Reviews executed documents to assure accuracy of legal descriptions and that all documents are properly executed and notarized
  • Identify and note title defects
  • Prepare title related correspondence
  • Attends meetings with client and other consultants
  • Review Title Commitments based on plant searches, opinion letters, title evidence and prior policies

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Role will require occasional travel to client and project locations
  • Strong surface fee/easement/right of way acquisition experience
  • Must possess strong leadership and communication skills
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and as a part of a team environment
  • Ability to work and oversee multiple projects concurrently
  • Extensive experience in overseeing creation of title ownership reports (Preferred HBP and Acquisition Due Diligence experience)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Land Management Systems
  • Current IRWA or AAPL membership preferred, but not required
  • In-depth knowledge of processes related to title research and curative measures
  • Detailed knowledge of researching public and title company records
  • Ability to compile and prepare chains of title, make abstracts of title with summaries of all matters and instruments of record
  • Interpret deeds, plats, leases, court actions, probates, other documents impacting property ownership
