Full-time

Job description

Are you looking to work alongside an industry-leading mortgage team with unlimited growth opportunities?  Today, you can apply with one of the fastest-growing mortgage teams in Dane County, WI — a top 10% loan production team nationwide, licensed in all 50 states. We're hiring a Loan Processor who wants to grow with us for years to come — with direct mentorship, a per-closed-loan bonus, and real career runway. Accomplish meaningful work inspired by a people-oriented philosophy.

This is a non-licensed position with real room to develop your career, direct mentorship from a top-producing originator, and a compensation structure that rewards you for contributing to the team's growth — including a per-closed-loan bonus on top of your base pay.

If you're a detail-oriented, deadline-driven professional who takes pride in giving clients a smooth, stress-free experience from accepted offer to closing day, we want to talk to you.

Compensation:

$25 - $32 hourly

Responsibilities:
  • Pre-process and pre-underwrite loans before they go under contract, catching potential issues early so nothing slows the file down later

  • Own non-licensed loan activity from application through closing, acting as the borrower's go-to point of contact throughout their transaction

  • Obtain and verify that all loan documentation, such as title insurance, appraisals, loan applications, credit reports, and income and asset declarations, is accurate and provided promptly to underwriters for loan approval

  • Order third-party documentation and reports for residential home loans, create and maintain the mortgage loan file, and assist in clearing underwriting conditions as requested

  • Collect and review borrower documentation — income, assets, credit, title, appraisals — ensuring everything is accurate and investor/agency compliant

  • Manage and issue loan commitments, initial Closing Disclosures, and final Closing Disclosures accurately and on time

  • Proactively manage a pipeline of 8-15 loans per month, keeping every file on track to close on schedule

  • Monitor the full loan cycle and flag/resolve anything that could delay closing — before it becomes a problem

  • Confidently answer clients' day-to-day questions about the process, explaining why something is needed in a clear, professional, and reassuring way

  • Communicate closely and proactively with your team lead and teammates so everyone stays aligned on pipeline status

  • Stay current on federal and state mortgage regulations and investor guidelines

Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years of experience in mortgage loan processing and/or underwriting (bank, credit union, or mortgage lending company background all welcome)

  • Solid working knowledge of Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, and Bond loan programs; familiarity with Commercial and Refinance products a plus

  • Working knowledge of federal and state mortgage regulations, strong enough to field client questions on the spot

  • Comfort with Loan Origination Software (LOS), Automated Underwriting Systems (AUS), and Microsoft Office

  • Excellent written and verbal communication — you can explain complex requirements simply and warmly

  • Sharp attention to detail and the organizational skills to juggle multiple files without dropping a ball

  • A proactive, deadline-driven mindset — you spot problems before they become delays

  • A team-first attitude and genuine interest in growing with us long-term
