Board Certified Behavorial Analyst

Who We Are:

The Timothy School is the oldest non-profit approved private school in Pennsylvania devoted exclusively to teaching students with autism. For over 50 years, we have worked to develop an understanding of autism that recognizes the strengths and uniqueness of our children and the specialized methods needed to expand their educational opportunities.

Job Snap Shot:

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst supports and assesses the mental and emotional needs of The Timothy School's students, and works with management and other school personnel to implement plans to manage and improve the behaviors.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification

Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and coach teams through the development and implementation of functional behavior
    assessments, positive behavior support/intervention plans, and crisis plans for all students. This includes conducting classroom observations to ensure implementation and allow team members to ask questions and for clarifications in the moment.
  • Coach and oversee classroom teachers through the development and implementation of Functional Behavioral Assessments, positive behavior support plans Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments and develop positive support plans for students identified as needing more thorough evaluations.
  • Ongoing development of FBA/PBSP protocols and training materials to ensure program
    guidelines and operations are in compliance with best practices.
  • Conduct workshops, trainings, in-service presentations, and team meetings on Applied Behavior Analysis concepts and implementation strategies including but not limited to targeting
    challenging behaviors to decrease, teaching replacement behaviors, and developing skill
    acquisition programs.
  • Ensure that staff and their training materials are in compliance with established guidelines by developing policies and procedures around helping students with challenging behaviors.
  • Sign off on all FBA and PBSP/PBSP revisions for students on caseload
  • Collaborate with school personnel, home support agencies, and individual families to plan and
    facilitate individualized behavioral strategies and plans as needed for individual students.
  • Set up individualized behavior data collection systems and train teachers/teams on collecting and understanding behavioral data. Assist with summarizing and analyzing data.
  • Collaborate with teacher on the development of behavioral goals and objectives for Individualized Educational Programs; participate in IEP meetings as needed.
  • Monitor behavior incident reports.
  • Meet with teachers on case load (minimum quarterly) to monitor student's progress and make programming changes as needed.
  • Meet with the Executive Director and Supervisors on a regular basis.
  • Serve as a member of the Clinical Team and SSP Team.
  • Review any restrictive procedures utilized with students on caseload at quarterly Human Rights Committee meetings.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
