Tile & Stone Design Assistant

We are looking for a results-driven Tile & Stone Assistant in our San Carlos showroom to support our senior designers/salespeople with their accounts. The Assistant will also support the tile and stone designers by attending design sessions with clients, taking detailed notes, and following up with questions, product holds, inventory requests/product availability, and quotes. With time and training, the successful Sales Associate will have the ability to answer product-related questions and recommend appropriate stone and tile solutions on their own. This position provides great training and experience to get to the next level in design.

Since 2005, Da Vinci Marble, a boutique under Architectural Surfaces Group, has been helping homeowners, designers, architects, and contractors create inspired interiors and exteriors with its hand-curated selection of stone and tile.


Da Vinci Marble is searching for a full-time, in house, high-energy Stone & Tile Design Assistant who will support our Design Team and their clients in our San Carlos showroom.


The ideal candidate has experience in residential and/or architectural design, has knowledge of the luxury building product business and understands the importance of developing strong industry relationships with Designers, Architects and/or Contractors.

The duties of this position require someone with great organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple requests simultaneously under deadline. With time and training, the successful Design Assistant will have the ability to answer product-related questions and recommend appropriate stone and tile solutions on their own. This position provides in-depth technical training and experience to advance assistants to the next level of design and luxury product sales.


Da Vinci Marble is looking for someone who has a passion for residential design and a strong service-oriented mindset to support our design team all while upholding our company values and contributing to an exceptional client experience.


Responsibilities:
Learn product lines and specifications by gaining a working knowledge of all our supplier offerings
Provide product information as needed, including samples, tear sheets, and product literature
Become familiar with showroom layout, wall displays and floor pads to aid in material sourcing
Learn and familiarize yourself with internal systems and be able to create quotes, invoices, and payment processing
Support Design Team in fulfilling client requests such as material photos, pricing, availability, lead times, holds, sourcing and sampling
Meeting prep (table reservation, material lay out and clean up, slab exposure etc)
Update CRM with necessary project information
Develop strong working relationships between supporting departments to work toward common goals


Qualifications:
Minimum of two years experience in residential design and/or a high end, high-touch retail environment with demonstrated success in customer service
Knowledge of kitchen and bath design is a plus
Degree in interior design is a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Previous knowledge of CRM platforms preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strives in a fast-paced high production environment with ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Ability to lift and maneuver up to 30 pounds
