Job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman Carpenter to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing high-quality carpentry work across residential and commercial projects, ensuring that all structures are built to precise specifications and safety standards. As a Journeyman Carpenter, you will bring your expertise in framing, trim, drywall, siding, and finishing to deliver exceptional craftsmanship on every project. Responsibilities

  • Interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately execute carpentry tasks.
  • Measure, cut, assemble, and install wood and other construction materials using hand tools and power tools for woodworking.
  • Perform framing, door hanging, siding installation, drywall hanging and finishing, as well as flooring and tile laying.
  • Operate woodworking machines safely and efficiently to fabricate custom components for various projects.
  • Conduct concrete forming, rebar installation, plastering, stucco application, and metal stud framing as needed.
  • Install fixtures such as cabinets, countertops, mold remediation systems, and other residential or commercial features.
  • Ensure adherence to power tool safety protocols while maintaining a clean and organized work environment on-site.
  • Assist with remodeling projects, restoration work, heavy lifting tasks, caulking applications, and siding repairs.
  • Interpret construction plans accurately while managing multiple tasks on busy construction sites.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Journeyman Carpenter with a strong background in residential carpentry and construction projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Proficiency with hand tools such as saws, hammers, chisels along with power tools including drills, saws, sanders for woodworking.
  • Familiarity with woodworking machines used for fabrication of custom components.
  • Experience in framing (including metal stud framing), drywall installation & finishing, siding application, flooring installation & tile laying.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Knowledge of construction estimating processes is a plus but not required.
  • Strong understanding of power tool safety standards and proper handling techniques.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced construction environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in interpreting technical plans and executing precise craftsmanship.
