Job description

Facilities Maintenance is responsible for supporting the maintenance, repair, renovation, and improvement of multiple M&K Truck Centers locations. This role oversees facility-related projects, including remodeling, building repairs, preventative maintenance, and occasional construction projects.

The successful candidate will serve as the primary resource for project cost estimation, subcontractor sourcing and coordination, and ensuring all facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. This position requires extensive travel and a broad background in commercial building maintenance, construction, and facility operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Facility Maintenance & Repairs

  • Conduct inspections of M&K facilities to identify electrical, plumbing, mechanical, structural, and other deficiencies.

  • Plan and implement facility repairs, improvements, and corrective actions.

  • Complete maintenance, repair, and improvement projects within established timelines.

  • Recommend repairs, capital improvements, and facility upgrades to the Facilities Manager.

  • Assist in maintaining safe, clean, and functional facilities across all locations.

Project Coordination

  • Develop project scopes, budgets, and cost estimates for facility-related projects.

  • Coordinate remodeling, renovation, maintenance, and special construction projects.

  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids.

  • Coordinate subcontractor schedules and monitor project timelines.

  • Verify that work is completed according to project specifications and quality standards.

Maintenance & Technical Responsibilities

This role may include hands-on work and oversight in:

  • Drywall installation and repair

  • Painting

  • Plumbing maintenance and repair

  • Electrical work and troubleshooting

  • HVAC maintenance and repair

  • Landscaping and grounds maintenance

  • Concrete repair

  • Carpentry and framing

  • Tile installation

  • General building maintenance

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has a minimum of 3 years of experience in construction, facilities maintenance, or building maintenance.

  • At least 2 years of experience overseeing mechanical and electrical systems

  • Is able to to travel (approximately 75% of the time) between facilities and project sites across multiple states, with occasional commercial airline travel

  • Has a valid driver's license with medical card

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, structural, and mechanical systems.

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
