MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Circuit Design and Documentation Technician to join our team in McLean, VA. In this role, you will play a critical role in the creation, implementation, and documentation of electronic systems and circuits within IT projects. This role combines technical knowledge of circuit design with strong documentation skills to ensure that designs are implemented effectively, maintained, and understood by future technicians or engineers.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Plan, design, implement, monitor, troubleshoot, and support local and wide area networks (LANs/WANs) in the areas of Internet connectivity, capacity planning, routing, switching, server load balancing, network security, and wireless.
  • Collaborate with engineers, IT specialists, and project managers to ensure that circuit designs meet project specifications and functional requirements ensuring accurate documentation of cabling infrastructure and enterprise networks.
  • Supporting installation teams by providing comprehensive run lists and cabling plans.
  • Creating circuit documentation in support of customer funded projects.
  • Building inventories and maintaining accurate information as it pertains to network components, circuits, routers, switches, racks, etc.
  • Local travel may be required between customer buildings or temporary assignment to an alternate location in support of special projects.
  • Member of a team comprised of a variety of skills that provide coverage from 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.; may need to work extended hours during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma with 8+ years of experience, Associates Degree with 6+ years of experience, or a Bachelor's Degree with 4+ years of experience.
  • Prior experience with cable testers and AutoCAD.
  • Strong documentation skills, including creating detailed circuit diagrams, assembly instructions, and technical specifications.
  • Experience with both simple and complex circuit designs, including experience with schematic capture tools.
  • Ability to select components based on cost and space limitations.
  • Knowledge of component and transmission medium compatibility and interconnection.
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office product suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint.)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in circuit design, electronics, or IT infrastructure projects (networking or system integration) that require custom circuits or embedded systems.
  • Certified Electronics Technician (CET) certification.
  • Autodesk Certified Professional (AutoCAD) certification.
  • Ability to adapt to quickly changing tasks and requirements and the ability to quickly learn new skills while on the job.

Clearance Requirements:
  • Must have a current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time. Constantly operate a computer, phone, and other office equipment for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to move/traverse within and between buildings and offices, position self to maintain equipment and cabling, including under the desks, while moving floor tiles, and in server closets, some of which may be confined spaces.
  • Must be able to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment weighing 50+ pounds, some equipment may require team-lift or the use of carts. Ascends/descends a ladder, 10+ feet high while pulling cables and adjusting equipment.
