Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Tile Installer / Skilled Construction Technician to join our team. This position involves installing tile in residential and commercial settings while also assisting with additional construction-related tasks including demolition, job site cleanup, repairs, and occasional handyman services.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and experienced in all phases of tile installation including layout, surface preparation, waterproofing, cutting, setting, grouting, and finishing. Candidates should be able to read plans, work independently, maintain high-quality craftsmanship, and complete projects efficiently while following all safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Measure and mark surfaces to accurately plan tile layouts
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications
  • Install floor tile, wall tile, backsplashes, showers, tubs, and custom tile features
  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, waterproofing, and applying underlayment or backer board
  • Cut tile using wet saws, hand cutters, grinders, and other specialized tools
  • Mix and apply mortar, thinset, grout, adhesives, and sealants properly
  • Install ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, marble, mosaic, and other tile materials
  • Ensure tile patterns, spacing, alignment, and finishes meet quality standards
  • Repair or replace damaged tile as needed
  • Perform demolition and removal of old flooring, tile, or materials when required
  • Assist with remodeling projects, punch-list work, and handyman-related services
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment by removing debris and excess materials
  • Transport materials, tools, and equipment throughout job sites
  • Operate power tools and construction equipment safely
  • Set up cones, barriers, and warning signs to maintain job site safety
  • Follow all OSHA and company safety guidelines
  • Communicate professionally with supervisors, team members, and clients
  • Report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or project concerns to management
  • Complete additional construction or labor-related tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Previous professional tile installation experience required
  • Strong knowledge of tile installation methods and materials
  • Ability to read construction plans and project layouts
  • Experience with waterproofing systems, floor leveling, and substrate preparation
  • Skilled in using tile saws, grinders, spacers, levels, trowels, and hand tools
  • Understanding of grout types, thinset applications, and tile spacing techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding conditions
  • Ability to kneel, bend, climb, and stand for extended periods
  • Reliable transportation and punctual attendance required
