Job description

We are looking for an outgoing leader that wants to be a part of changing an industry while having a lot of fun doing it. We all work extremely hard every day and love it. We are certainly a “get it done” type company — so if you would like to hide in a cubicle, this job is not for you.
Allied Modular Building Systems is a premier modular building manufacturer with locations in Orange, CA; Nashville, TN; and Austin, TX. At Allied Modular, we are well aware of the impact of our solutions — but we will not rest until everybody knows.
We are seeking a driven, relationship-focused Project Manager with a passion for getting the job done right the first time to come join our team Our ideal candidate will be trusted to dive right in, take the lead, use initiative, and develop relationships to meet or exceed our organizational objectives — 5X the company in five years!

WHAT THIS ROLE ACTUALLY IS
This is not a paper-pushing coordination role. At Allied Modular, a Project Manager is an owner. You own your projects — budget, schedule, client relationship, and outcome — from the moment Sales hands off a signed deal through the day the client signs off on a completed installation. You protect profitability, drive communication, anticipate problems before they become crises, and lead every stakeholder — internal and external — to a successful result.
We build modular structures: prefabricated, precision-manufactured, and fast to deploy. Our PMs manage complex, multi-phase projects involving manufacturing, logistics, permitting, and field installation — coordinating closely with our Installation Manager and Project Administrators to deliver on time and on budget. If you thrive in a fast-moving environment where ownership is real and impact is visible, you’ll love it here.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Project Manager is accountable for the full lifecycle of their projects — from pre-planning and engineering coordination through manufacturing alignment, delivery, installation, and final client sign-off. This role requires someone who leads proactively, communicates constantly, thinks like an entrepreneur, and never lets a problem sit in silence. You will work closely with our Installation Manager, Project Administrators, and internal departments while serving as the primary point of contact for our clients.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN
  • Project delivery, end-to-end — scope, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction from handoff through closeout.
  • Client relationships — you are the voice of Allied Modular throughout the project lifecycle; all external communication flows through you.
  • Budget ownership — monitor and protect project profitability, manage change orders, control costs, and approve all project-related expenditures.
  • Master scheduling — build realistic, coordinated schedules that align manufacturing, logistics, permitting, and installation; update them proactively.
  • Risk management — identify problems early, escalate immediately, and never manage issues in silence.
  • Cross-functional coordination — align engineering, manufacturing, logistics, and field teams around a shared plan.
  • Permitting — manage permit processes and ensure all compliance requirements are met before execution begins.
  • Subcontractor oversight — partner with the Installation Manager on subcontractor coordination; provide final approval on scope, pricing, and payment release.
  • Change order management — document, price, and capture every scope change before work begins.
  • Project closeout — drive punch list completion, obtain client acceptance, and conduct post-project reviews to continuously improve.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Experience & Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business, Operations, or a related field preferred.
  • 5–7 years of experience as a Project Manager responsible for managing scope, timelines, budgets, and delivery of complex products or services.
  • Background in manufacturing, modular, prefabricated structures, industrial, or similar product-delivery industries strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with city and municipal permitting processes is a plus.
Skills & Attributes
  • Ownership mentality — you treat every project as if your name is on the bottom line.
  • Outstanding communicator — proactive, clear, and consistent with clients and internal teams alike; you respond within 24 hours, always.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills — you anticipate, you plan, and you adapt.
  • Natural relationship builder — you earn trust with clients, subcontractors, and colleagues.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized — you catch things others miss and follow through on everything.
  • Proficient with technology — Microsoft Office, project management software (Workfront a plus), and ERP/CRM platforms (Business Central a plus).
  • Team player and mentor — willing to share knowledge and help junior team members grow.
TRAVEL & WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role is primarily office-based with occasional travel required for client visits, site walks, and coordination with our other facilities. Some field presence during installations may be expected.
WHY ALLIED MODULAR
We are a team of high-energy, passionate people who believe we are changing the way the world thinks about space. Our culture is built on standards, accountability, profitability, and excellence — and we have a lot of fun building something great together. We’re growing fast (5X in five years is the goal, not the hope) and we want leaders who want to grow with us. We offer a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience.
