Job description

Description:

TITLE: Residential Swing Driver

DEPARTMENT: Operations

REPORTS TO: Residential Supervisor

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt


Position Summary:


The Residential Swing Driver, under direction of the Residential Supervisor, empties company issued residential waste receptacles for Tiger Sanitation customers, as well as overages where required in accordance with company policy, utilizing rear load, automated side load vehicles, and container delivery vehicles.


 Education and Experience

  • Possess a valid Class A or B Driver’s License
  • 2 years of professional residential driving experience preferred.
  • 1 year of Automated Side Load  experience

Essential Functions:

  • Performs and documents pre-trip and post-trip inspections of company issued vehicles.
  • Empties residential waste receptacles as indicated on daily route sheet.
  • Perform cart delivery functions, such as removals, swaps, and repairs per route sheet.
  • Actively communicates all changes to daily route sheet to the dispatch team.
  • Notifies supervisor of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage that may occur while completing activities on route.
  • Reviews and completes daily work orders.
  • Ensures accurate completion of route sheet and VCR by the end of each day.
  • Ability to proficiently navigate, in forward and reverse motion, driveways, alleyways, high traffic roadways with potential limited overhead and compact areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to safely operate various DOT vehicles in accordance with OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act) and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements as well as all local, state, and federal law.
  • Ability to proficiently navigate, in forward and reverse motion, driveways, alleyways, high traffic roadways with potential limited overhead and compact areas.
  • Ability to safely operate a DOT vehicle from both right and left side driving positions.
  • Ability to operate joystick controls with precision.
  • Knowledge of and willingness to train and operate rear load, automated side load, and cart delivery vehicles.
  • Ability to follow route sheets and maps for various routes as assigned.
  • Ability to push, pull, and up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
  • Ability to convey Tiger Sanitation as the obvious choice for our customers, employees, and community.

Working Conditions


This position will be based in an outdoor environment, exposed to the elements, with extended periods of standing, sitting, squatting, climbing, reaching, and lifting.
