Job description

Set just steps from Goose Rocks Beach, Tides Beach Club Restaurant is a vibrant coastal retreat known for its stylish ambiance, fresh seafood-driven menu, and exceptional guest service. We’re seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to join our team and help create unforgettable dining experiences by being the first and last impression for our guests.

As a Host/Hostess, you’ll be the welcoming face of the Tides—greeting guests with warmth, managing reservations and seating with efficiency, and ensuring the front-of-house runs smoothly throughout each service.

As part of the Kennebunkport Resort Collection, Tides Beach Club operates seasonally with a focus on high-quality, hospitality-driven service. This is a great opportunity to be part of a beloved destination and contribute to a standout coastal dining experience.

Job Summary: This position requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills, strong planning and problem-solving skills, and the ability to stay organized and multi-task in a very busy setting. Major responsibilities include ensuring guests are greeted immediately and guest needs are responded to quickly, properly booking the restaurant (using the Open Table System) to maximize the number of guests received, and maintaining a consistent flow of guests' orders to the kitchen while ensuring guests are satisfied.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for answering incoming telephone calls and reservation email correspondence
  • Greeting/directing hotel guests/staff and/or the general public
  • Monitors and maintains acceptable guest turn times
  • Oversee and manage all nightly bookings through OpenTable reservations system
  • Engaging in clear, consistent communications with leadership and restaurant staff on a frequent basis
  • Be cordial with and engage with guests enjoying lobby space
  • Tend to guests seated at outdoor spaces to ensure their needs are met
  • Clear used dishware and glasses as needed
  • Assist servers and leadership in completing a smooth shift including helping with side work, cleaning, and being proactive with shift time
  • Must know how to prioritize, delegate and respond in a timely fashion 
  • Must be able to work quickly under pressure while maintaining hospitality
  • Any other duties assigned by the manager on duty
  • Must be able to be on feet for the entire length of shift
