LOCATION: Beaumont, TX, or Remote (travel nationwide 20-50%)

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced VP of Water Equipment and Systems Engineering to design and implement integrated equipment systems for industrial process water and wastewater treatment. This role focuses on developing customized treatment solutions for food and beverage facilities with high organic loading in their wastewater streams. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise across multiple treatment technologies and a strong ability to integrate equipment into complete, optimized treatment systems.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop custom process flows for industrial water and wastewater treatment systems.
  • Engineer integrated equipment solutions spanning primary, secondary, and tertiary treatment processes.
  • Apply expertise in treatment technologies including clarifiers, dissolved air flotation (DAF/SAF), centrifuges, aerobic treatment systems, and membrane filtration (UF/NF/RO).
  • Evaluate client wastewater characteristics and develop treatment strategies for organic-loaded effluents typical of the food and beverage industry.
  • Collaborate with equipment vendors to select, specify, and integrate treatment technologies into complete system designs.
  • Prepare process flow diagrams (PFDs), process design criteria, and technical documentation.
  • Support proposal development and technical sales by defining system configurations and performance requirements.
  • Participate in system commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization as needed.
  • Ensure designs meet applicable environmental regulations and industry best practices.
  • Work cross-functionally with project management, mechanical, and controls teams to deliver turnkey water treatment systems.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10-25 years of experience in industrial wastewater treatment engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with treatment technologies including: clarifiers, centrifuges, DAF/SAF systems, aerobic biological treatment, membrane filtration systems (UF, NF, RO).
  • Proven experience designing process flow schemes for integrated water treatment systems.
  • Experience working with equipment vendors and specifying treatment equipment.
  • Strong understanding of wastewater treatment challenges associated with food and beverage processing facilities.
  • Ability to analyze wastewater characteristics and translate them into practical treatment solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience with high-strength organic wastewater treatment systems.
  • Background in design-build or turnkey water treatment projects.
  • Familiarity with pilot testing, system scale-up, and process optimization.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
  • This role will require the ability to move, stand, sit, bend, lift, and turn freely. Must be able to handle tools and operate equipment while using proper PPE at all times. Position will be required to visit customer sites which may include but is not limited to: manufacturing sites, water treatment facilities, mills, or related. Will be required to be in adverse weather conditions.

Licensing & Special Requirements:
  • Incumbent is subject to a background check.
  • Local State Driver's license and proof of insurance required by the time of hire.
