What is the difference between Ticket Network vs Ticketing Agent?

AspectTicket NetworkTicketing Agent
Primary RoleOperates a ticketing platform or system for event ticket salesAssists customers in purchasing tickets, often at a retail or box office
Work EnvironmentCorporate offices, online platforms, call centersRetail stores, event venues, box offices
CredentialsKnowledge of ticketing software, customer service skillsCustomer service skills, sometimes basic computer skills
Industry UsageUsed by ticketing companies, event organizers, online platformsFound in theaters, sports arenas, concert venues

Ticket Network primarily operates as a ticketing platform or system provider, enabling online sales and distribution of event tickets. In contrast, a Ticketing Agent interacts directly with customers to facilitate ticket purchases at physical locations or via customer service. While Ticket Network focuses on platform management, Ticketing Agents focus on customer service and sales at the point of sale.

How does TicketNetwork work?

TicketNetwork is a ticket marketplace that connects buyers with sellers of event tickets. The platform facilitates transactions by listing available tickets, processing payments, and providing customer support, often requiring knowledge of online sales tools and customer service skills.

How does TicketNetwork compare to StubHub?

TicketNetwork and StubHub are both online ticket marketplaces, but TicketNetwork primarily serves as a platform for ticket resellers and event organizers, often offering bulk and wholesale options. StubHub is a consumer-focused resale platform with a wide selection of individual tickets and a buyer protection program, making it more accessible for general consumers. For job seekers, roles at TicketNetwork may involve sales, customer service, or technical support, while StubHub roles often focus on sales, marketing, and platform management.

Who owns TicketNetwork?

TicketNetwork is a privately owned company founded in 2009 that operates as a ticket marketplace platform. It is owned by its founders and private investors, and it provides ticketing solutions for event organizers and resellers.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Ticket Network Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Ticket Network Specialist, you need a solid understanding of ticket inventory management, e-commerce operations, and strong analytical skills, often supported by a bachelor’s degree in business or a related field. Familiarity with ticketing platforms (like TicketNetwork Exchange), CRM systems, and data analysis tools is typically required. Excellent communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities distinguish high performers in this role. These competencies ensure efficient ticket distribution, customer satisfaction, and optimal sales performance in a competitive marketplace.

What is a Ticket Network?

A Ticket Network is a platform or marketplace that connects buyers and sellers of event tickets, such as concerts, sports games, theater shows, and other live events. Ticket Networks act as intermediaries, providing a secure and reliable way for individuals and authorized resellers to list and purchase tickets. These platforms often offer features like price comparisons, seat selection, and electronic delivery to enhance the ticket-buying experience. Some well-known ticket networks include TicketNetwork.com, StubHub, and SeatGeek. They help ensure authenticity and protect both buyers and sellers through various guarantees and customer service support.

Is TicketNetwork a legitimate site?

TicketNetwork is a legitimate online ticket marketplace that connects buyers with event tickets. It is a well-established company operating in the ticket sales industry, and many users rely on its platform for purchasing event tickets securely. However, as with any online marketplace, users should verify event details and seller ratings before completing transactions.
