YOU
As a Multi-Die Cold Header/Threader Operator, you will be responsible for performing tasks necessary to keep equipment running efficiently, including preventative maintenance, machine set-ups, and troubleshooting issues. You will also train and mentor new employees in the heading and threading processes. This position operates on a Monday-Thursday shift from 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM, with overtime as needed.
** SIGN ON BONUS - $3,500**
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Use blueprints to conduct visual product inspections, ensuring conformance to specifications and documenting results using the SPC program. (40%)
Adjust machine components to control speed, pressure, dimensions, and material flow. Change tooling as needed and reset machines to proper specifications. Inspect and measure parts using calipers, micrometers, length gauges, and other precision tools, while monitoring machine performance. (30%)
Maintain Simpson's high-quality standards with consistency and pride. Perform housekeeping, daily machine maintenance, and troubleshoot manufacturing issues while ensuring a safe, clean, and organized work environment. (20%)
Operate a forklift to retrieve raw materials and transport finished products to the outbound staging area. (10%)
Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Experience reading blueprints required
  • Five (5) years of experience in setting up and the operation of Heading/Threading machines.
  • Experience with Asahi, Saspi Ingramatic Ewmen machines preferred.
  • Ability to use basic measurement tools - micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Forklift experience
  • Ability to work independently or with a team
  • Mechanical ability & safety. Able to consistently prioritize safety by demonstration of safe work practices and promoting a safe work environment
  • Accountability & Dependability. Able to consistently demonstrate reliable, punctual attendance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. This role operates large equipment while standing for approximately 8-12 hours, regularly twisting, and bending in a repetitive motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The job may risk exposure to heat and/or cold, loud noise levels, vibration, and moving mechanical parts.
