Job description

Assurance Manufacturing is an employee-owned precision sheet metal fabrication, stamping, machining, and assembly company that operates in a modern manufacturing facility. We are looking for a CNC Set Up Machinist person for our 1st shift at our Coon Rapids facility.

CNC Set Up Machinist Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for setting up the machines utilizing the approved CNC program and working with Quality to validate that the first piece meets requirements
  • Runs CNC machines and checks parts periodically to confirm conformance to drawing requirements.
  • Maintains clear and honest communication at all times.
  • Keeps the work environment safe.
  • Learns and applies the latest relevant knowledge to the work.
  • Follows work order procedures and routings; gather required tools and materials based on instructions, drawings, and specifications provided for the job.
  • Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
  • Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered. Follows Control of Nonconforming Product Procedure.
  • Follows procedures in relation to inspection of parts including first piece approval.
  • Cross Trains in other areas of the plant as necessary to meet production demands.
  • Adheres to all safety rules and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

CNC Set Up Machinist Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Certificate in machine shop technology or machine tool technology/machinist required.
  • 1-2 years' experience as a set-up machinist is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and computer skills.
  • Attention to detail and self motivation
  • Good teamwork skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Basic understanding of technical plans, drawings, models and blueprints.
  • Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.
  • Basic understanding of mathematics.
  • Ability to measure parts with calipers and micrometers.
