Job Description:  The Threading Shift Lead provides immediate oversight of the threading line to safely and efficiently produce products meeting prescribed requirements.  Shift leads ensure that each workstation is operating smoothly to accomplish goals set by their supervisor.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safe working practices are followed and all accidents, hazards, near misses and property damage are reported in the required time.
  • Be proficient in operation of all positions within the threading line.
  • Monitor workstations to ensure line is flowing smoothly and production stops and backlogs are avoided.
  • Facilitate accurate communication between line workers and leadership team.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and report them to Threading Supervisor.
  • Ensure products are processed in conformance with STL, API, and customer requirements.
  • Manage resources effectively to accomplish production goals in a timely manner.
  • Assess and identify competencies/training needs of employees.
  • Train new and existing employees for all positions.
  • Ensure all production and inspection records are complete and accurate.
  • Represent departmental interests as a liaison between Management, Maintenance, Warehouse, QA, and/or QC.
  • Ensure production activities are carried out within budgeted machine and labor hours.
  • Hold daily talks with technicians regarding workloads, methods, quality objectives and safety hazards.
  • Provide positive re-enforcement and feedback to technicians.
  • Ensure work area(s) are maintained in a clean and organized manner.
  • Ensure transfer of knowledge between shifts.
  • May be required to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this position in support of department objectives and to develop one’s skills. 
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Must have safety as a priority.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Assist Finishing Supervisor with enforcing all company policies and PPE requirements.

Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements: 

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Years of Experience: Must have at least three years’ experience working in similar production line
