Job description

Security Officer

Our corporate activities are growing rapidly, and we are currently seeking a full-time, 3rd Shift Security Officer to join our Facilities team. This position will work on a team to accomplish tasks and projects that are instrumental to the company's success. Seeking individuals for 3rd shift! (Differentials included!)

Responsibilities

  • Report daily surveillance activity and important occurrences to Security Supervisor;
  • Patrol campus regularly, per defined security routines, to maintain order and establish presence;
  • Check surveillance cameras to identify disruptions or unlawful acts;
  • Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation;
  • Ensure all exits, doors and windows are secured after end of operations;
  • Monitor and authorize vehicles or people on the property;
  • Maintain inventory of all security equipment including, but not limited to, traffic cones, air compressor, battery charger, etc.;
  • Call local authorities should trespassers or wrongdoers need removed from the area;
  • Provide assistance to individuals on campus as needed;
  • Communicate facilities-related matters and concerns to management as appropriate;
  • Complete all assigned safety and training programs;
  • Maintain a safe working environment;
  • Complete reports and document all incidents/activities during shifts in accordance with SOPs/Manuals/Guidelines;
  • Sustain the highest levels of professional conduct and customer service maintaining a friendly and approachable demeanor; and
  • May be responsible for other projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Prior Security experience is preferred
  • Current and legal Driver's License;
  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking, which may be required for long periods of time, and may involve climbing stairs and ladders;
  • Demonstrated ability to follow procedures directed by work orders, peers and/or supervisor;
  • Working knowledge of basic computer skills, Microsoft Office, Internet based systems and electronic work order system(s);
  • Ability to perform job duties with minimal supervision;
  • Demonstrated ability to adequately communicate (written and oral) with employees and external parties, as necessary; and
  • Knowledge of the work hazards and applicable safety precautions associated with the area of work assignment;
  • Ability to work minimum 3 days per week from 11:00 pm-7:30 am, but can be flexible with start and end time.
