Job Summary

The Group Lead, Warehouse is responsible for leading and supporting daily warehouse operations while ensuring safety, accuracy, productivity, and exceptional customer service. This role oversees Shipping Clerks and warehouse team members, coordinates inventory movement, supports order fulfillment activities, and drives continuous improvement initiatives. The Warehouse Group Lead serves as a hands-on leader who promotes teamwork, cross-functional collaboration, and operational excellence.

Primary Duties

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, train, and support Shipping Clerks and warehouse team members.
  • Assign daily work activities and monitor employee performance to ensure productivity and accuracy standards are met.
  • Foster a positive team environment focused on accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Assist in onboarding and cross-training employees to support workforce flexibility.
  • Serve as a point of contact for operational issues and escalate concerns as necessary.

Warehouse Operations

  • Coordinate and support daily order fulfillment activities to ensure customer orders are processed accurately and on time.
  • Operate warehouse equipment, including Pack Mule vehicles, forklifts, and stand-up lifts, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Unload inbound shipments and verify products received against shipping documentation.
  • Receive inventory into the warehouse management system and ensure proper product placement and storage.
  • Replenish inventory locations to maintain efficient picking and fulfillment processes.
  • Support inventory control activities, cycle counts, and inventory audits to ensure inventory accuracy.

Shipping & Receiving

  • Oversee shipping and receiving operations to ensure timely and accurate processing of inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute UPS, FedEx, USPS, and other parcel deliveries to appropriate departments.
  • Verify shipment information and address discrepancies as needed.
  • Ensure shipping documentation is completed accurately and maintained according to company procedures.

Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and support inventory control best practices.
  • Utilize Zebra scanners and warehouse management technology to process transactions and track inventory movement.
  • Investigate inventory variances and assist with corrective actions.
  • Ensure products are properly labeled, organized, and stored.

Continuous Improvement & Collaboration

  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Partner with Purchasing, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Inventory Control, and other departments to resolve issues and improve workflows.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and support implementation of operational best practices.
  • Adapt to changing business demands and assist in various warehouse functions as needed.
Qualifications
  • Forklift and stand-up lift operating experience required.
  • Experience using barcode scanners, RF devices, or Zebra scanners preferred.
  • Experience with inventory management and cycle counting processes preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn warehouse management systems.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Education / Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous warehouse, distribution, shipping, or logistics experience required.
  • Previous leadership, lead, or supervisory experience preferred.
