Job Description
AECOM is seeking aCalifornia Traffic Engineering State Manager to be based in Orange, Los Angeles or Oakland, California.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Coordinates and provides technical expertise for mid- large-size projects.
  • Leads technical client relationships and plays a major role in selling.
  • Leads discipline department efforts to grow technical expertise.
  • Leads technical business development work.
  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
  • Approves and signs off on work.
  • Leader in one or more areas of technology.
  • Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule a to meet requirements on large, complex projects.
  • Manage the traffic engineering staff on a daily basis throughout California
  • Lead traffic engineering projects and traffic design tasks throughout California
  • Lead marketing and proposal efforts for traffic engineering projects.
  • Be responsible for plan approvals for Caltrans and other major agencies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to discuss projects with co-workers, clients, regulatory agency staff, AECOM staff, and the public in meetings and at public events as well as write concise and readable technical reports and documents
  • Supporting a wide range of traffic engineering projects for roadway, freeway, transit systems, managed lanes, bicycle and pedestrian facilities
  • Must be highly self-motivated with the ability to successfully multi-task, perform detail-oriented work, work independently, and demonstrate effective time management skills
  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered, apply innovative design solution, implementing current technology to meet project design needs
  • Provides guidance, mentor and coach to engineers, or technicians, to learn and improve their technical skills
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office programs and other relevant software programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and preferable Project) Skilled in MicroStation and AutoCAD software

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • BS plus ten (10) years of relevant experience and demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • California PE or TE license

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 12+ years of traffic engineering management experience
  • 6+ years of job-related experience in California
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to successfully multi-task, perform detail-oriented work, work independently, demonstrate effective time management skills, and consistently deliver high quality deliverables
