Job description

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Inventory Measurement & Weighing Specialist to support inventory accuracy and data integrity within a modern warehouse environment in Carrollton. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that every product within the facility is accurately measured, weighed, and recorded in the inventory system.

You will be using a Dimensioning Cart / Mobile Dimensioning Station. Do you have experience with this?

This is a mobile workstation equipped with parcel-measuring technology, used in warehouses and shipping facilities to instantly calculate the dimensions, weight, and volume of packages.

This is a Distribution Center Measurement & Weighing Role within a Distribution center.

The information captured in this role directly impacts shipping accuracy, freight costs, warehouse slotting, and downstream operational systems. Success in this position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong warehouse experience, and confidence operating powered industrial equipment.

Inventory Measurement & Data Accuracy


• Accurately measure and weigh inbound and existing inventory using handheld scanners and dimensioning equipment.
• Record and verify product dimensions and weights within the warehouse inventory system.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in measurements, escalating issues when necessary.
• Ensure item master data remains accurate and consistent across warehouse systems.

Warehouse Operations Support


• Safely operate powered industrial trucks (PITs), including sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts, order pickers, and cherry pickers to access inventory throughout the facility.
• Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain high inventory accuracy levels.
• Inspect items for damage or inconsistencies while measuring and document exceptions according to warehouse procedures.
• Work closely with warehouse leads, shipping teams, and inventory control to resolve measurement or inventory issues.

Operational Excellence & Safety


• Maintain a clean, organized work area around measuring stations and equipment.
• Follow all warehouse safety procedures and equipment operation standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts aimed at increasing accuracy, efficiency, and overall warehouse performance.

Required Qualifications

• Strong computer skills and comfort working with warehouse management systems and handheld scanning equipment.
• Proven experience operating powered industrial trucks including forklifts, order pickers, or cherry pickers.
• Exceptional attention to detail — accuracy is critical in this role.
• Previous experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or a related environment.
• Solid understanding of warehouse workflows including receiving, storage, inventory management, and shipping.
• Ability to lift and move materials according to warehouse safety guidelines and work within racking environments.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple warehouse teams.

Preferred Experience

• Experience using dimensioning or measurement scanning equipment.
• Background supporting inventory audits, cycle counts, or inventory data correction processes.
• Forklift or powered industrial truck certification.

This is a contract position expected to run six months or longer with a stable Monday–Friday first shift schedule.
