Job description

Aerospace Quality Inspector

Employment Type: Contract
Industry: Aviation / Aerospace

Schedule: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Aerospace Quality Inspector to support the inspection and quality control of precision parts and materials within a highly regulated aviation/aerospace environment.

This is a hands-on inspection position requiring strong experience reading engineering drawings and blueprints and performing dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment. The Quality Inspector will inspect incoming materials and outgoing orders, verify certification and traceability documentation, identify nonconforming product, and ensure parts meet applicable design and quality requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced inspector who takes pride in accuracy, documentation, and getting quality right before product moves forward.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming parts and materials for conformance to engineering and quality requirements
• Perform dimensional inspections according to engineering drawings, design records, and documented AQL requirements
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection requirements
• Perform daily inspections using micrometers, calipers, ring gauges, pin gauges, comparators, indicators, and other precision measuring equipment
• Conduct visual inspections to identify defects and nonconforming conditions
• Verify outgoing orders and ensure required certifications and documentation are accurate and complete
• Review certification documentation for traceability and compliance with company quality standards
• Support AS9100 quality and traceability requirements
• Identify, segregate, document, and control nonconforming products and materials
• Perform preliminary review and disposition of nonconforming material
• Communicate with vendors regarding certification or quality issues as needed
• Maintain accurate inspection records and objective evidence of inspection results
• Assist and mentor other members of the inspection team
• Manage multiple inspection priorities while maintaining accuracy and quality standards

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of Quality Assurance / Quality Control inspection experience
• 2+ years of hands-on experience using precision inspection equipment, including calipers, ring gauges, pin gauges, comparators, or similar measuring tools
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings or blueprints
• Knowledge of dimensional inspection methods and procedures
• Experience identifying and controlling nonconforming materials or products
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a quality-driven environment
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Excel
• Must be able to successfully complete a documented color and near-vision examination

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous aerospace or aviation quality inspection experience
• Knowledge of AS9100 requirements
• Experience with certification and traceability documentation
• Experience with receiving inspection
• Experience with AQL inspection methods
• Experience working with suppliers or vendors to resolve quality and documentation issues

Ideal Candidate

The strongest candidate will have a true dimensional inspection background—not simply general warehouse or visual QC experience. You should be comfortable picking up a drawing, determining what needs to be inspected, selecting the appropriate measuring equipment, documenting the results, and identifying when a part does not conform to requirements.

If you have hands-on inspection experience with precision measuring tools and enjoy working in an environment where accuracy and quality matter, we would like to speak with you.
