STRING INSTRUCTOR POSITION


Job description: Private Music Instructor - Strings (1099)


Start Date: 10 Month Position, September 2, 2026 through Mid-June.


Days: Monday through Friday

Hours: 7:15am - 8:00am, 3:10pm - 6:00pm

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Documented proven experience working with school age children
  • Strong communication skills
  • Familiarity with a range of genres on their instruments (classical, pop, fiddle, etc)
  • 2 - 3 letters of recommendations from current or former private students
  • 3 - 5 years experience teaching and managing a private studio
  • Bachelor's degree in music performance or education with a string concentration (violin, viola, cello, bass)
  • Reporting to: Director of Auxiliary Programs

    Description: The ideal candidate would be able to work with students of all ages and experience levels as part of our private music lesson program and be able to demonstrate an ability to maintain positive relationships with families, students, and members of the Pike community. This position would report to the Director of Auxiliary Programs and will be supported by the Visual & Performing Arts Department Chair.

    Essential Duties:

  • Schedule and provide private music lessons on string instruments (violin, viola, cello, and/or bass) to students in Grades 2 - 8
  • Coordinate with the Visual & Performing Arts Department Chair and the Director of Auxiliary Services to schedule lessons
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with students and families
