Job description

Rio Grande Community College is seeking applicants for a part-time Support Specialist at the new Rio Grande Pike County Center in Piketon Ohio. Reporting to the Center Director, the Support Specialistโ€™s responsibilities will include but not be limited to providing administrative support to the Director, working with prospective Pike County Center students, as well as faculty and staff, and effective use of technology to ensure an active and effective learning environment.
Essential Duties:
  • Communicate with and assist potential students seeking information about the college and offerings at the Rio Grande Pike County Center
  • Provide administrative support to the Director
  • Assist students with the admissions and financial aid process
  • Coordinate administrative support functions with main campus
  • Assist with scheduling of rooms and events at the Pike County Center
  • Monitor and coordinate office and instructional supplies
  • Utilize institutional information systems to assist students and staff
  • Troubleshoot technical problems as needed to support students and staff
Position Qualifications:
Associateโ€™s degree in Office Technology, Business, or related field is preferred. Two years of experience in an office setting is also preferred. Applicant must have strong written and oral communication skills, be highly organized, possess strong computer skills, and demonstrate a commitment to the importance of higher education. Must be available for occasional evening hours.
