Job description

We grow and deliver the world’s BEST Strawberries & our Drivers are an enormous reason why!

As part of our Distribution team, a Driver plays a crucial role in ensuring that we deliver the highest possible quality product to our customers. As Oishii continues to grow, we have expanded our distribution to bring more of our coveted berries to more customers. As part of this role, you will handle deliveries from our farm in Jersey City, NJ to our customers in the NY, PA, CT, MA, DC, & NJ areas, ensuring that our berries get there safely, on-time, and in perfect condition.   

What you’ll do:

  • Handle deliveries to distribution centers, retail accounts, specialty stores, and individual customers' apartments/homes (mostly sprinter vans)
  • Communicate promptly, effectively, and respectfully with all accounts/customers and members of the Oishii Business team
  • Facilitate feedback as necessary between accounts/customers and Oishii team
  • Exercise strict adherence to parking and traffic regulations
  • Support Oishii with delivery assistance for special events as necessary
  • Maintain hygienic packaging and delivery operation when handling Oishii’s products
  • Expected to understand, implement, and enforce food safety policies, including worker hygiene, sanitation, and maintaining proper documentation.
  • Support Oishii Farm Team with assistance for packaging and on-site operations as necessary
  • Serve as a representative of Oishii to the world - for our customers, you will "be" Oishii

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable driving in the tri-state area including NY, CT and DC, average of 8-12 hours at a time
  • Comfortable with a typical start time of 4:00am with occasional shifts being as early as 2:00am
  • MUST NOT be allergic to bees

Shift & Schedule:

  • Either Saturday or Sunday availability is required; this is a 5 day/week onsite role. Schedules/shifts vary starting as early as 2:00am

What We Look for in a Driver:

  • HS Diploma or GED. 
  • Experience with up to 26 foot box trucks is a nice to have 
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • DOT Medical Card preferred (1. Need to have it or 2. Employment pending ability to pass it) 
  • Ability to maintain excellent punctuality and attendance.
  • 2+ years of delivery experience in NYC
  • Experience operating a refrigerated Van in Manhattan
  • Authorized to work in the US for any employer
