Job description

FOH Expo

Who We Are:
Pasta Sisters is a family-owned Italian restaurant and fresh pasta shop that specializes in homemade pasta and traditional Italian dishes inspired by the founders’ family recipes and culinary heritage. It combines authentic Italian flavors with a casual, approachable dining experience. At Pasta Sisters, we're proud to share the food we grew up with. Made with care, high-quality ingredients, and genuine love, our dishes bring everyone together to enjoy authentic Italian cooking in a place that feels like home.

Position Overview:

At Pasta Sisters, our Expo (Expeditor) is the heartbeat of service. Bridging the kitchen and front-of-house to ensure every dish is accurate, beautifully presented, and delivered quickly. This role is critical in maintaining flow during service, especially in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Expos don’t just call tickets. They lead the line, organize the pass, support teammates, and ensure every guest receives their food exactly as intended. You help create a seamless experience by keeping communication clear, timing tight, and standards high.

Key Responsibilities:

• Organize and manage the flow of tickets from kitchen to front-of-house.
• Ensure every dish is plated correctly, complete, and meets Pasta Sisters quality standards.
• Call out orders clearly and coordinate with servers/runners for timely delivery.
• Act as the main point of communication between kitchen and front-of-house teams.
• Monitor ticket times and help maintain a steady, efficient pace of service.
• Identify and resolve issues quickly (missing items, modifications, delays).
• Assist in garnishing, finishing, and final quality checks before food leaves the pass.
• Keep the expo line clean, stocked, and organized at all times.
• Support packaging and accuracy of takeout orders when needed.
• Jump in to run food, bus tables, or assist other stations during peak periods.
• Help maintain a positive, focused, and team-oriented environment during service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

• Experience: Previous expo, line cook, or restaurant experience is required, minimum 2 years. We value strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Communication: Strong, clear, and confident communication skills. Ability to stay calm and direct under pressure. Spanish is a plus.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to quickly spot mistakes and ensure every plate is correct before leaving the kitchen.
• Sense of Urgency: Thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands timing is everything.
• Leadership Mindset: Ability to take control of the line and keep the team organized and focused during service.
• Team Player: Willingness to support all areas of the restaurant when needed.
• Organization: Keeps the expo station clean, stocked, and running efficiently at all times.
• Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and consistent.
• Mobility: Ability to stand for long periods (up to 8 hours), move quickly, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Availability: Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Our Values

At Pasta Sisters, how we work matters just as much as what we serve. Our team is built around five core values:

Honesty – We do the right thing and stay true to who we are.

Respect – We treat everyone with dignity and understanding.

Care – We pour our hearts into everything we do.

Hard Work – We believe effort makes the difference.

Happiness – We bring joy to every day.

These values are part of our culture and our hiring process. If selected for an interview, you may be asked questions based on these values—so come prepared by knowing them.

Ready to join us?
If you’re enthusiastic, people-focused, and excited to grow with Pasta Sisters, we’d love to meet you. Apply today and become part of the Pasta Sisters family, where handmade pasta, Italian tradition, and genuine hospitality come together every day.

We believe food is more than a meal, it's a connection.
At Pasta Sisters, everything we do comes from the desire to share the warmth of our family, the honesty of our roots, and the joy of genuine hospitality. We work with care, respect, and dedication so every guest feels valued, every team member feels supported, and every experience feels like home.
