Job description

Job Purpose:

The Packaging Technician is responsible for gramming all types of product, shatter, sugar wax, wax, Live sauce, etc. ensuring presentation and packaging is to company SOP's and standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Construct boxes and prepare packaging containers for fulfillment of product.
  • Perform a series of Quality checks by comparing labels with the job card making sure all information is accurate and matches the production batch, strain, potency, OPC/MIP license, and weight.
  • Sanitize and clean all tools, scales, jars, etc during changeovers from one batch to another.
  • Clean and restock items daily.
  • Accurately weighing and packaging of product while maintaining presentation and cleanliness and acceptable variances.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Working Conditions:

Production floor environment Must wear required PPE, including mask, hairnet and lab coat when on production floor. May occasionally require lifting of up to 25 lbs. Exposure to cannabis material and chemicals, fumes, dust orders, and noise.

Supervision Received:

Packaging and Processing Leads supervises job performance, sets goals, and audits progress, productivity and systems implementation.

Minimum Experience Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years old.
  • Basic Math skills.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and basic computer skills.
  • Good verbal and written skills.
  • Time-management and decision-making skills.

Preferred Experience Requirements:

  • Attention to Details
  • Highly organized
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.

Minimum Education Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education Requirements:

  • 1-year packaging experience.
  • 1+ years Industry experience.

Required Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of the State's cannabis regulatory compliance requirements, particularly in labelling requirements and METRC seed to sale tracking.
  • Capabilities with computer systems, software and hardware common to manufacturing facilities.
  • Competent in Record-keeping procedures relating to compliance, employees and production batches.
  • Possess a valid and current MED Badge.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Sound organizational proficiencies.
  • Ability to conduct oneself in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Critical time management.
  • Ability to identify and effectively prioritize actions and requirements.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time as required.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with fingers, type.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Work evenings as required during Covid outbreak schedule or when adding new shifts.
