Manager, Learning Experience Design (Leadership)

Capital One's Enterprise Learning & Development team is seeking a forward-thinking and dynamic Learning Experience Design Manager to serve as a visionary architect and empowering people leader for our enterprise leadership programs. The team brings together human-centered design principles and modern instructional design practices to create high-impact, transformative learning experiences for associates across Capital One. In this role, you will specifically drive the development of learning experiences that shape our current and future leaders, ensuring they are equipped to navigate an evolving and complex business landscape.

As an empowering people leader, you will inspire a team of designers to realize the vision of our business and consulting partners. You will oversee the portfolio of learning initiatives for leadership and diversity, inclusion, and belonging (DIB) programs, aligning design efforts to the highest-impact leadership challenges. By blending human-centered design mastery with exemplary leadership, you will mentor your team in building high-impact, customer-grade journeys that cultivate essential leadership capabilities in others across the enterprise. In doing so, you will focus on leading a future-ready design workforce with the infusion of artificial intelligence tools into workflows to maximize efficiency, creativity and delivery at scale.

You are trusted by the business to make strategic recommendations and build well-managed infrastructure that elevates learning for everyone from aspiring leaders to executives. Beyond shaping individual learning products and programs, you drive impact by intentionally developing the skills of your direct reports and setting the standard for learning design excellence. • A strategic portfolio manager: You own the intake and prioritization of learning design initiatives for our enterprise leadership programs. You work closely with program leads and department leadership to align your team's efforts to areas of greatest leverage and business impact, creating clear project roadmaps that provide line of sight to partners.

  • A human-centered learning expert: You leverage evidence-informed adult learning models, methods and modalities to guide your team in creating effective experiences. You champion designs that span all delivery modes (digital, video, classroom, virtual classroom, mobile, social) tailored specifically for leadership development.

  • A modern product strategist: You possess the ability to use a product mindset to iterate and improve learning based on data. You treat learning solutions as dynamic products rather than static events, continuously leveraging qualitative feedback, engagement analytics, and organizational health metrics to optimize learning outcomes.

  • A collaborative partner: You possess a strong leadership presence and the ability to communicate with leaders across all levels of the organization. You partner seamlessly with business leaders and HR partners to conduct needs assessments that identify the critical learning needs of our leaders.

  • An operational systems thinker: You build well-managed infrastructure to ensure learning design output is consistent with organizational guidelines and meets a high standard of learning excellence. You operate as a strategic thought partner to learning leaders across Capital One to ensure enterprise offerings align with the needs of the job family and line of business teams.

Here's what you need to be successful:

  • Applied adult learning expertise: Deep expertise in how adults learn in a large, matrixed organization, backed by hands-on experience designing and developing learning journeys across all modalities.

  • Ownership and agility: The ability to work both independently and collaboratively, operating effectively in ambiguity to translate high-level leadership development needs into structured, actionable learning solutions.
